Up to 20% of the commission Hungry As earns from your order goes to a charity you choose.
Hungry As takes a flat 10% commission. Together, customers, drivers, restaurants and Hungry As can send 9% or more of your order to charity, and every donation goes directly to the charity in the donor's name.
Hungry As doesn't take any commission from donations. We believe that would be wrong: every dollar should go where it's intended and be used in full.
Customer, restaurant and driver donations go directly from the donor to the charity in the donor's name. The charity receipts the donor. Hungry As takes no commission, fee or percentage from any donation, because we believe that would be wrong: every dollar should go where it's intended and be used in full. Donations are excluded from Hungry As's commission. Hungry As receives no financial or tax benefit from other people's donations. The only donations that are tax-relevant to Hungry As are its own pledge and its own match, paid from its own funds.
If you choose, the summary can include information from your chosen charity about how your donation will be spent and the charity's goals, and, separately, one notice from a restaurant that matched your donation. Both are optional and start unticked.
How the money flows
- You choose a charity. Hungry As pledges from its own funds.
- Your donation is a separate charge to the charity's own account, in your name.
- A restaurant or driver who opted in adds their own donation, in their name, up to the limits they set.
- Hungry As pays its pledge and match monthly, with a statement, receipted to Hungry As.
